Utilities Policy:
Effective immediately the utility policy for the City of Arthur, North Dakota is this:
Utility bills are sent out approximately the last day of the month and are due on the 20th of the month following. A late charge will be assessed on any bill not paid in full by the 20th. The Late fee will be applied on the 21st day of the following month is $20.00. As a convenience to the residents and businesses in Arthur, the city offers an auto pay plan so late payments may be avoided.
Any account that is past due by 3 months, the water will be shut off the next business day. Once the water is shut off, the account will need to be paid in full along with the $150 reconnection fee. Once the Payment has cleared the bank the water will be turned back on. The amount due and the reconnection fee must be paid between the hours of 8 AM and 3:30 PM on a business day (Monday thru Friday), holidays are excluded.
Non-sufficient payments on Utility bills will be assessed a $30 fee, along with the $20 late payment fee. The account will need to be paid by a money order, cashier’s check or cash following the NSF.
Example: Utility bill is sent out May 31st and is due on June 20th, if not paid in full by June 20th a late fee will be assessed ($20.00) on June 21st. The May 31st bill will continue to incurring the late fee on the 21st of July if no payment is received. If the account is still not paid in full by August 21th for the May 31st an additional $20 late fee will be applied to the bill and the water will be shut off the following business day. The account will need to be paid in full along with the $150 reconnection fee before the water is restored.
This policy goes into Effect May 31st 2023.
